My Experience with the BōnDry Hydration Bladder Dryer By Ancient Trail

Initially I was very excited to test out the BōnDry Hydration Bladder Dryer. This is a product that solves a very real problem a lot of us deal with. Stinky and eventually pretty gross hydration bladders. Which happens pretty quick when you inevitably store your bladders away with some moisture trapped inside. There are some ways around this, like storing your bladders in the freezer, but who wants to take up freezer space like that? I know I don't.

So when I was able to nab a few BōnDry Hydration Bladder Dryer from Ancient Trail I was stoked. They seemed like a real game-changer. And quite honestly I was shocked that I had never heard of them before, as they've been on the market for a few years.

I had a handful of CNOC Outdoors Water Containers in my freezer and decided to pull them out so I could test out the BōnDry Hydration Bladder Dryers right away. So I followed the very easy instructions and the testing began!

All you have to do is empty the hydration bladder, give it a rinse and stick the BōnDry inside, with the end sticking out. I set one of my bladders upright pictured below, and the other I laid flat. I wasn't sure if there was a set up that would work better. In the end, laying the bladder flat seemed to be more effective.

All in all I have tested out the BōnDry Hydration Bladder Dryer six times now. And while it's not some miracle product, it does work well to dry out hydration bladders so that you don't have to keep them in your freezer, or partially wet which makes them get super gross over time. I would say these work to about 98% dryness. After 12 hours or so, they will have absorbed as much as they can. All six tests I've done result in mostly-dry bladders. Which is better than any other alternative!

I like how easy these are to use, I like that they dry themselves out and can be reused time and time again. They are a solution to a very frustrating problem, and for that reason, I would recommend them! Not a perfect piece of gear, but a near-perfect one.
