My Experience with the Grizzly Bear Resistant Ultralight Food Locker By Adotec Gear

Generally speaking, we don't deal with grizzly bears in the Southwest. But rodents can be a serious issue while backpacking, and of course we've got plenty of black bears! Many of us also enjoy trekking north into grizzly country, so having one food storage solution to rule them all is very awesome. That's where the Grizzly Bear Resistant Ultralight Food Locker by Adotec Gear really shines. It's versatile and perfect for everywhere that a bear canister isn't required.

To give this Grizzly Bear Resistant Ultralight Food Locker a good test, I brought it on a long backpacking trip in Canyonlands National Park. This park is home to lots of precious rodents, and yes, even bears!

During the trip, I really enjoyed keeping my food and scented items in this bag. It is certainly lightweight, and in use was a lot more spacious than I initially thought it would be. I had no problem keeping a weeks worth of food in it, along with my toiletries kit and trash. And I hadn't repackaged any meals, so there was definitely some bulk to my food packaging.

At the start of the trip, the food locker was stiff and hard to tie off because of it. That's the nature of the material its made from, and it got better and more pliable over the course the week.

During this backpacking trip, I wasn't able to test out if the Grizzly Bear Resistant Ultralight Food Locker by Adotec Gear as far as it being bear-proof or rodent-proof. I saw some little mousey tracks below the juniper I tied the bag to, but all in all the critters seemed to ignore my food during this trip.
